Движение открыто 29 апреля 1993 г. В 1997-м году был открыт второй маршрут, а в 2004-м — третий. Подвижной состав — капитально отремонтированные исторические вагоны из Порто и Мельбурна, один красный вагон из Рио-де-Жанейро, ранее бывший открытым и полностью переделанный, а также новоделы. В 2003-м году внешний вид вагонов был испорчен заменой штанг на пантографы.
