The Porto Eurotram # 018 was brought to Australia by Bombardier as a "demonstrator" in 2002. There was nowhere it could run in Sydney (the horizontal and vertical curves on the IWLR at the Railway Colonnade are too tight for it) so 5 sections of the 7 section car were put on static display at Circular Quay, very close to where the CSLER now terminates.
The car did run with all 7 sections in Melbourne for a short time, around the time of the Melbourne Grand Prix in 2003, but was restricted to a mostly straight route with generous horizontal curves.
