An advance contact with the local undertaking yielded an assignment of a 2-car train on the Oberweißbacher Schwarzatalbahn line for the entire day this early in the season. Many thanks to the local employees for an attentive reception. More photos will follow later on.

Комплекс двух линий Oberweißbacher Bergbahn и Schwarzatalbahn был передан DB (немецкие ж.д.) в 1994 году.

Кстати, Bergbahn это фуникулёр. Утверждается, что это единственный фуникулёр в ведении DB.

Oberweißbacher Bergbahn = both the funicular Obstfelderschmiede - Lichtenhain and the electric line Lichtenhain - Cursdorf (both systems under the same name)

The company DB RegioNetz Oberweißbacher Berg- und Schwarzatalbahn (now: Thüringer Bergbahn) as part of the DB group is responsible for all three of these systems. But the 2-axle electric cars have nothing to do with the Schwarzatalbahn railway.

Thanks for an update. A quite interesting case of naming nomenclature and language barrier. The line operates in the area where information in English is difficult to get. Locals hardly speak any English, while all the signage and info on websites are in German. Curiously, the few English texts on Bergbahn available online (including Wiki) are not clear on name differentiation of segments of the line. The texts identify the funicular as Bergbahn, which connects to the upper segment referred to as 'adhesion railway' or Adhäsionsbahn. The latter is a technical term, not a proper name. Unfortunately I didn't take the diesel train Schwarzatalbahn at all due to lack of interest.
