Japanese trains look somewhat especial. Still, I don't understand: why to make front windows this high - and then to paint or shade them?

"Nippon Sharyo": "Nippon" (日本) is "Japan", and what does "Sharyo" mean?

Японские поезда выглядят как-то по-особенному. Всё же, не понимаю: зачем делать передние окна такие высокие - и потом закрашивать или занавешивать их?
