Hiroshima Station (広島駅)

Two atomic-bomb survivors are passing each other in front of new Hiroshima station building construction site.
Those cars are still assigned to regular service on morning rush hour time during weekdays.
After construction of the new station building is completed in 2025, this tram line section will be moved to new line with connection to inside of new station building.

Kinami Sharyō One of three operational cars that survived a nuclear explosion in 1945. On the day of the bombing Car 651 was running around the Chuden-mae area in Naka Ward, about 700 meters from the hypocenter. The roof and doors were blown off and the car was half-burned. Repaired and returned to service in 03.1946. The car is seldom used in revenue service, mainly on spring holidays.

It was exposed to the bombing near Ujina, but was only slightly damaged as it was 4 km away from the hypocenter. Since then the car has undergone numerous repairs. The car is seldom used in revenue service, mainly on spring holidays.
