This is the only segment of an isolated tramway right-of-way in the city. A gated tram crossing is one of only two such crossings on the entire system, the other located at the neighboring crossing on the same segment. This short segregated segment is the second most photographed tramway location in the city, next to only Kumamoto castle, since it is reminiscent of the traditional Japanese tramway scenery. The rest of the system, however, is nothing like that.
