Could anyone provide a description of how this system works? Would be pleased if there's a video too.
Since trolleybuses with batteries are becoming popular in Russia, I wonder why there's no such system in development. Sadly only traps or even manual setting is used.
The bus stoped under wires and a sensor search and check the wires in this position. Than the poles go up (not direct to wires), after the poles switch to side and a special contact field stopped on the wires. When this position was arrived, the poles go to final heigh and heads get in perfect contact to the catenary.

Nothing sad about it. Simple, cheap, reliable and successfully used all over the world. Anything else is frankly not worth the investment. Which today’s example shows well.
