In the meantime, I've received the necessary explanation about the numbering. The sidewall of this tram (31) was open and received some panels of the former work car 45 as an addition when it was transported to Canada. Just on these recycled panels the number 45 was printed. It's therefore clearly tram 31. With thanks to a well-known tram enthusiast for this information.
