The Sherlock Holmes books (and well known movies, especially the USSR version from 1980) place the Reichenbach waterfall somewhere within desolate Swiss mountains. The waterfall, however, is located right outside the urban area of Meirengen, and was even it was served by the tram )

Книги о Шерлоке Холмсе (и известные фильмы, особенно советский фильм 1980-го г.) размещают Рейхенбахский водопад где-то в живописных горах Швейцарии. Однако на самом деле водопад находится прямо на границе урбазнизированной зоны Майрингена. Более того, в своё время к Рейхенбахскому водопаду даже подавали трамвай )
