Not at all. I photographed (in suitable places) what came in front of my lens.
If 50% of the vehicles are covered with advertising, then statically 50% of my photos will be advertising vehicles. In Hong-Kong: 100% of my collection are advertising vehicles, because there is simply nothing else...
All I do everywhere is try to see and photograph all types of material. Personally, I find this more interesting than advertising: that is temporary.
The only exception to the rule are the trams now concerning Covid-19, such as those with a mouth mask. This is because this is a temporary, but very significant issue.
Such photos will one day have historical value, which I cannot say about a tram with Lipton advertising - which I may also have photographed somewhere...
Again: this is my personal opinion and my way of experiencing the hobby. I am not going to criticise anyone who collects advertising vehicles: each to his own freedom and his own thing.
