April 5, 2025The first electric bus (IVECO Crossway LE City Elec #871) enters regular service on route 113 Ljubljanica — Jarun.
March 10, 2025First new Končar TMK 2400 tram enters regular service on route 1.
February 3, 2025Delivery of the first new Končar TMK 2400 tram.
January 20, 2025Reconstruction of Zagreb Funicular starts. It will include complete renovation of the stone viaduct, rebuilding of both stations, new cabs and modernisation of electrical power equipment. Completion is expected in March 2026.
January 7, 2025Opening of reconstructed Mihaljevac terminus.
Routes 8 and 14 will operate on their regular routes. Route 15 is back in service. December 31, 2024Reopening of Adriatic Bridge, closed for trams since August 2022 due to renovation. Route 7 will return to its regular route (Savski most — Novi Zagreb — Dubrava), while route 14 will operate in section Trg žrtava fašizma — Zapruđe.
Opening of reconstructed Mihaljevac terminus is expected soon. December 1, 2024Start of operation of Christmas trams. For the first time, two trams will operate: alongside usual M-24, TMK 2300 #2301 will also run. Trams will operate on circular route: Trg bana Josipa Jelačića — Ilica — Ulica Republike Austrije — Jukićeva — Vodnikova — Zrinjevac — Trg bana Josipa Jelačića daily until January 7, except December 8, Christmas Day and New Year Day.
November 13, 2024Tender for purchase of first 4 electric buses has been published.
September 21, 2024On 21 and 22 September, open days will take place in Trešnjevka depot from 9 am to 6 pm, with museum rides on route 21.
Museum rides will also take place the day before, on Friday 20 September TMK 101 will operate on route 21 between 2 and 9 pm. September 3, 2024Contract for the second batch of 20 Končar TMK 2400 trams has been signed. A total of 40 trams will be produced, with plans to order 40 longer low-floor trams.
August 7, 2024Due to reconstruction of a road overpass, tramway operation between Žitnjak and Savišće will be suspended until further notice. Route 2 will be shortened to Žitnjak, and route 3 will be shortened to Heinzelova loop.
June 24, 2024Second phase of Mihaljevac reconstruction starts. Tramway operation at the terminus will be suspended until further notice and substituted by buses.
Routes 8 and 14 will be diverted as follows: 8: Kvaternikov trg — Draškovićeva — Zapruđe 14: Trg žrtava fašizma — Trg bana Josipa Jelačića — Savski most. May 31, 2024On the City of Zagreb Day, special rides with M-24 tram (consist 88-520) will take place between 10 AM and 4:30 PM on museum route 21: Ljubljanica — Vodnikova — Glavni kolodvor — Trg žrtava fašizma — Trg bana Josipa Jelačića — Frankopanska — Ljubljanica.
May 7, 2024Another ADTranz GT6M ex 610 is on the way to Zagreb and will be numbered as 1002. It is expected to be in service by the end of this month or beginning of June.
May 6, 2024Reconstruction of Mihaljevac terminus starts. During the first phase trams will operate as follows:
Route 15 will be suspended until the end of reconstruction. Route 8 will be extended to Gračansko Dolje on workdays. On weekends, because route 8 does not operate then, route 14 will be extended, while on workdays it will operate as normal. March 23, 2024On selected weekends during spring and summer, due to reconstruction of electrical substation "Daničićeva", tram traffic will be suspended on routes through the city center and towards Črnomerec. Tram traffic in these sections will be substituted by bus routes.
On workdays trams will operate as normal without route changes. February 2, 2024Construction of the first new Končar TMK 2400 three-section low-floor tram has started. Zagreb has ordered 20 trams of this type, funded by National Recovery and Resilience Plan, which are to be delivered in 2025.
December 27, 2023First GT6M, No 1001 in regular traffic on line 12, course 12.
December 1, 2023The first Adtranz GT6M from Augsburg arrived in the Trešnjevka depot.
August 22, 2023Zagreb signed a contract with German Augsburg to buy all its eleven trams of type GT6-M, made by ADTranz. The first tram should arrive in a few weeks and the tests, education for drivers and repair staff as well as the homologation should take about a month. By the end of the year the whole fleet of 11 trams should enter service and replace TMK 201 completely.
