In this city, Alstom trams are assembled in the local Cital factory. Cital stands for Citadis Algerie.
The components come from Alstom (+/- 66 % of the trams), other parts like seats, software and other are made locally.
It was also planned to build a tram line in the city, but the project has been officially frozen.

This factory assembled the following trams:

2012/2013: Constantine (24)
2012/2013: Oran (21) (note 1)
2013/2014: Mostaganem (4) (note 2)
2014/2015: Sidi Bel Abbès (30)
2015/2016: Ouargla (23)
2016/2017: Sétif (26)
2019/2021: Mostaganem (21) (note 2)

Note 1: 7 of these trams are still in the factory because the planned extensions, for which the trams were planned didn't materialise.
Note 2: the project in Mostagenem was delayed, so construction was suspended until there was certainty about the opening of the line.

It's under study whether the factory will participate in major overhauls (600000 km and more) for complete trams or only certain parts.
