Information

A mining trolleybus line existed in Datong from the late 1980s to the 1990s. This was one of the longest such lines at almost 16 km, but the fall in ore prices at the mid-1990s resulted in large cuts to mining personnel and the trolleybus was thus terminated.
During its peak, a total of 5 trolleybuses (>2 articulated BJD562 with square windows) worked on the line in 2 shifts.
