A historic photo of a tram still operating on Strada Anghel Saligny, which used to be a part of the former 1000 mm network.

Ex-Berlin Tatra KT4D tram crosses a junction at Bulevardul Siderurgiștilor / Strada Anghel Saligny.
The line on Strada Anghel Saligny is a leftover from the era of 1000 mm system.
At the time of publishing both branches of the line in this photo (behind the car to the right and a single track to the left of the car) are dismantled.

Strada Anghel Saligny

The line on Strada Anghel Saligny is a leftover from the era of 1000 mm system, even though it was converted to 1435 mm in the 1970s acting as a short turn for the line to Micro 19.
At the time of this photo the line was not operated, while at the time of publishing the line is dismantled.

Линия по Strada Anghel Saligny — остаток эпохи сети 1000 мм, хотя участок и был перестроен на 1435 мм. в 1970 гг., оставаясь в качестве опции для укороченных рейсов по линии на Микрорайон 19.
На момент съёмки линия не эксплуатировалась, а на момент публикации линия демонтирована.

Strada Basarabiei

The Galaţi tramway system had seen a succession of renovation projects.
In this photo ex-Berlin Tatra KT4D tram ascends a hill in the western segment of the city's main tramway thoroughfare Strada Basarabiei, while the eastern part of the network is closed due to renovation of the eastern segment of the street (see in the background).

Трамвайная система Галаца претерпела целый ряд проектов по реконструкции.
На этом фото бывш. берлинский трамвай Tatra KT4D поднимается на гору в западной части главной трамвайной магистрали города Strada Basarabiei, в то время как восточная половина сети закрыта из-за реконструкции восточной части улицы (см. на заднем плане).

Strada Basarabiei

Pictured is one of the succession of temporary closures of parts of the Galaţi tramway system for renovation projects.
This time the line to the Main Railway Station and the line to the eastern industrial park to Portul Bazinul Nou closed because of upgrading of the eastern segment of Strada Basarabiei.
The line to Portul Bazinul Nou will later reopen, but then will close again for good in 2018.
The line to the Main Railway Station will not reopen after this renovation.

На фото одно из временных закрытий части сети Галаца для очередного проекта реконструкции трамвайной системы.
На этот раз линия до ж.д. вокзала и линия на восточную промзону до Portul Bazinul Nou были закрыты из-за перестройки восточной части Strada Basarabiei.
Линия до Portul Bazinul Nou позже откроется, но затем в 2018 г. снова закроется навсегда.
Линия до ж.д. вокзала после этой реконструкции так и не откроется.

Strada Traian

City's main tramway junction Strada Traian / Strada Basarabiei had seen tram lines radiating in four directions.
It is now reduced to a single west-south move.
In this photo the line to the north to Bariera Traian is already closed and paved over.
The line to the east to Portul Bazinul Nou (to the right in this photo) will reopen after the pictured construction project, but then will close again for good in 2018.

Главный трамвайный узел города Strada Traian / Strada Basarabiei ранее представлял из себя линии, расходящиеся во всех четырёх направлениях.
Теперь узел сокращен до одного поворота запада-юг.
На этом фото линия на север до Bariera Traian уже закрыта и заасфальтирована.
Линия на восток до Portul Bazinul Nou (поврот направо на фото) откроется после окончания данного строительства, но затем в 2018 г. снова закроется навсегда.

Piața Centrală

At the time of the photo the central tramway loop was used by many midi-buses serving regular bus routes and substituting for suspended tram routes, and by a few occasional trams at the same time.

На момент съемки на центральном трамвайном кольце одновременно оборачивалось множество мидибусов, обслуживающих регулярные автобусные маршруты и заменяющих отменённые маршруты трамвая, а также редкие трамваи.

Bariera Traian

At the time of the photo the tram line 35 to Bariera Traian is already suspended since 2009, but tracks still remain.
The trolleybus wire is used for depot runs only.
The Brateș Lake in the background is a part of the Danube River floodplain.

A train of ex-Berlin Tatra KT4D cars during the last better years of the Galaţi tramway.
The consist operates special service for steelworkers between Micro 19 and the Galați steel works, designed around shift changes.
Route 3 used to be operated with 3-car trains in the past.
All tram services to the steel works will be suspended from 17.12.2018.

Поезд из бывш. берлинских вагонов Tatra KT4D в последние стабильные годы трамвайной сети Галаца.
Состав обслуживает спецрейс для работников-металлургов между Микрорайоном 19 и сталелитейным заводом Галаца, приуроченный к пересменкам.
В былые времена на маршруте 3 работали тройники.
Трамвайное движение на сталелитейный завод будет отменено с 17.12.2018.
